We are looking for a Back End Team Leader
As a Backend Tech Lead you will act as the hands-on technical focal point for one or more domains in our product, and an advocate of engineering excellence and our Engineering department’s standards. You will actively contribute to both the development of the product and its unique features, as well as to our coding and design standards and our architecture. You will also act as a consultant and mentor within one of our engineering groups, taking a key role in helping to grow our teams, our senior engineers and our future leaders. You will work closely with the engineers in the group, other tech leads and architects, and the Product team, and will report to a Director of Engineering. What you will be doing
Actively contribute to the code.
Review the tech design of significant upcoming features and engineering initiatives.
Ensure good coding, design and architecture practices and set an example of engineering excellence.
Guide, advise and mentor engineers in your group, while focusing on senior engineers and potential future Tech Leads.
Take an active role in continuously evolving our architecture, standards and tech stack.
Participate in cross-department Tech Leads/Architects forums and strategic architecture sessions.
Take the lead and implement pivotal POCs, complex projects, infra efforts and more.
Requirements:
7+ years of diverse experience developing software products end-to-end with an emphasis on backend development and production-grade SaaS products.
Excellent knowledge of software design and scalable web architecture.
Proficiency with Scala, Kotlin or Java.
Significant experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
Experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
Passionate about software development and engineering excellence, with a hands-on mentality.
Strong collaboration, communication and English skills.
Independent, resourceful, and proactive team player with a desire to impact our team, our product, and our customers.
Experience mentoring other engineers is a big plus.
